RAGEPOST (concerning Snork)

Why does the drop rate for the Ebil Hazard Armor have to be 1%?  Snork isn't an easy fellow (at least for me) to kill in the first place.  Half the time I lose, and the other half I survive with under 10 health.
And then there's that 5 battles per hour limit.  -.-  REALLY?
REALLY?

On EpicDuel's latest release-

Shortly after my last post, I realized that I was a bit of an idiot to forget about yesterday's release in ED, so here it is.
In my opinion, the most exciting part about this release is the certain bit of loot that Snork may or may not drop.  I'm pretty sure that the devs implemented this one because people wanted the Bio Hazard Husk back.
The Bio Hazard Husk was the best nonvarium armor of its time, and at the moment, the only nonvarium armor with +8.  Well, this Ebil Hazard Armor (no doubt named because of the recent war) is not the best of its nonvarium class, only offering a +9 in either element.
However, it is still worth getting.  The +10 to strength emphasizes the "hazard" part of its name.  The +10 Strength does not exactly match up with the +6 Support, though.  But still- a rare.  So for me, #MustGet.  (Sorry, been on Twitter too much)

Heromart's t-shirt for the tenth anniversary has been released, so (of course) it has a matching item for each game.  In EpicDuel that happens to be Artix's Triumph, a level 32 Physical Sword.
Its stats are overly general- where general, in my case, means a +2 to Strength and Support, and +10 to everything else.  In short, it's related to the Celtic Cleaver.  The requirements are very low (30 Strength, Dexterity, Technology), so this is very flexible.  I like the art, too.  So if I were you, if I had some extra cash, I'd get the shirt.  But in reality- for the sword.  (If I wore the shirt to school, everyone would probably make fun of me for not converting fully to either Minecraft, League of Legends, or some other game that I do not know.  However, those are the same people who quit ED because they could not figure out the math.)

Probably the most important aspect of the release for nonvariums- a new buyable hybrid armor.
The first thing I noticed is that it is seasonal-rare.  Good.  Then I can wait till next year to get it.
Next- that it is a "one size fits all" armor.  Oh god.  And that it has 4 defense and 6 resistance.  Like it is catered to Tactical Mercenaries, what with their Mineral Armor.
But wait-!
1) It has 6 Strength.  For those tank strength TLMs...hmmmmm
2) +4 dexterity, because most TLMs don't need it.
3) +10 Technology.  IMO this is the fact that seals my idea that this is a TLM sort of armor.  Tech-abusing strength ones.

But still, it's good for all.

All the other Harvest gear has come back, including the Harvest weapons and the armor.  It's still worth getting the Reapers- do not underestimate that +14, followed by the +7.  And the special.  It is overshadowed (in terms of special) only by the Bionic Battlegear, but that is now gone forever.

PS: It's a bit early, but Happy Halloween!

Screen Recording

When you're making a video of anything on your computer, you can't just take any old screen camera.  You have to go look for the best one and the one that has the best quality-to-price (if any) ratio.
For general recording, I use Hypercam 2.  It was the only one I've considered using, because in the world of screen recorders, I am ignorant.  After all, it worked fine on most of my videos.  How the video actually turned out depended on the quality and my tweaking.
Over time, I've realized that all of my Minecraft videos are a bit *off* in quality, so thus began my journey to search for the best screen recorder.  I haven't tested out my latest one, FastStone, yet, though.
But anyhow- New videos!

New Video!

This one is a bit longer than most, and I almost died, too.

EDIT: I have removed the video due to crappy quality.  I may repost in HD.

100 Floors

100 Floors is one of those puzzle games that really wreck your mind and make you desperate to do anything to pass the level.  As per the title, there are 100 floors (I believe 15 more for Halloween or something- I haven't played in a while) for you to go through to reach the elevator of doom, which takes you to the next level.
The game is very unique in which it takes control of your phone to access several resources (an example is the clock) to make the games challenging to the point of mindblow.  There are tons of different types of puzzles.  Very rarely will you encounter the same type of puzzle again.

And there's an Official Cheat Guide (funny putting the "Official" in it).

However, when I get stumped on 100 Floors, too often I turn to the cheat guide.  It will tempt you.  Really.

Cartoon Wars

Oh hell yes, CW (at least #2) is awesome!
It's another one of those *certain* games, distinguished (well, not really, there are lots of games out there that have this battle system too) by its battle system (defense).
There are 3 CW games, each with a different plot (copied from Amazon Appstore's description):

Cartoon Wars 1:
Two tribes existed in the Cartoon World; the vicious Color Tribe and their slaves, the Black and White Cartoon Tribe.
For generations the Black and White Cartoon Tribe were treated as property, and forced into slavery.
Fortunately... some with bigger ideas existed amongst them.
They gathered and began a revolt to free themselves, taking the battle to the Color Tribe.

The inevitable war has begun: become the hero of the Black and White Cartoons and set your people free.

Cartoon Wars 2:
After generations of war in the Cartoon Kingdom, King K and his army were expelled with the prominence of Captain J. The people praised Captain J and crowned him as their new King. The exiled tribe swore vengeance as they embarked on their journey to find the King of the Monsters. The second chronicle begins as the battle to defend the kingdom continues!

Cartoon Wars Gunner+:
In the midst of war in the Cartoon World, a king devised a deadly plan to slay the much-praised Captain J, as his presence was threatening the king's position.
Chased with ferocious troops on his back, Captain J fled into the mountains with a serious injury.
The arrogant king, who once hailed his troops for the victory, faces an iminent danger yet again with his foe, Captain J.

I don't really like Cartoon Wars 1, but you can tell it is the original base for CW2.  As in a good idea.

Cartoon Wars 2 is my favorite.  There is the normal battle system, which is a blend of defense and offense (somewhat obvious there) where you must defend your castle from an oncoming horde of invaders and at the same time attack and conquer the enemy castle.  As you go deeper into the game, the enemies become harder (obviously) and to troll you, the game throws in a couple of flying enemies that you can only efficiently take down with your spear-shooting bow located on the castle.  After all, the flying troops available to you are really weak.  Maybe they're airsick.
Aside from that, there is another battle mode starring just your character (aka the hero).  You have to fight a bunch of enemies on foot by yourself.

I really dislike CW Gunner (or 3, whatever you want to call it).  It's just "hero mode" (your character goes out and gets slain by a bunch of black-and-white cartoons) all the time, 24/7.  And as far as I know, the game doesn't end.

And yes, I understand that the permissions are a bit sneaky.  But if you don't want it, oh well.

Cartoon Wars 2: iTunes Google Play Amazon Appstore

PS: Upon further inspection, I find this.  Interesting!

Quell

I'm a bit of a Quell fanatic.  I love Quell Reflect.  I haven't tried Quell yet, but what I do know about Quell is that Quell Reflect's soundtrack is better than the original's.

Anyhow, you can thank me for recommending this app without even saying why (for the most part).

PPS: Quell is working on their next game already.

EDIT: Steven Cravis has made all of the original three tracks on his website "previews", and added new "previews" of other pieces of music, therefore rendering the above music player useless (should display an error message).  I highly dislike.  But if  you want to, fine then.

Ebilcorp War At a Glance: ED and AQW

Hey guys, I'll try not to make this long and boring.
Okay.  So the Ebilcorp War has finally finished.  I still don't understand why they had to pull off something as big as this for their birthday.  I was actually worrying that we wouldn't make it.  But there's me, the obsessed gamer.
But of course we made it, because there must be other people like me out there.  (The only difference is that they spend way more time on the computer.)  And now that it's over and done, I'm going to recap what happened in AQW and ED.
To be honest, in both games (actually, all six) it was more grinding that storyline/plot.  In AQW, Chairman Platinum steals Battleon.  That's about as plot-ish as it gets.  He replaces it with this (somewhat different) town, which in AQW is referred to as (/join) Ebilbattleontown.  It appears that Chairman P has brought his bros with him, unleashing a pack of Level 45 monsters throughout Ebil Battle On Town.
Unfortunately for him, those very monsters act like they are level 25.  That's how AQW won.  They were second in the winner's circle (yeah, how did HeroSmash of all games get there first?).  So after all that grinding and lots of dead monster heads, AE (well to get into the spirit, I must call them EC from here on) released another 800,000 monsters for the players of AQW to tangle with.  Either
1) AE (AAACK! It's EC) underestimated how many players AQW has or
2) They want all the players of AQW to drown in the sea of monster heads.
I don't know if Chairman Platinum supplied a dump truck with his renovation of Battleon.
Because of course AQW would be the best game to put this on, for every game that reaches 100%, in AQW you get a reward.  Eventually, that all added up to a full set of equipment, PvP Necklace (from ED- where else besides Pony vs Pony) and Pet (AQ Classic) included.  The only thing that was missing was a class.
(On a side note, I wish that the Golden Trobble could attack.  All it does is watch and occasionally jump while you get pwned by the Greenguard Basilisk.)

And as for ED, it wasn't that much different.  Kimberly (One-eyed Doll) finally hopped on the ED train and ended up there.  She's gotten fresh armor and an almost-similar iconic axe.  She had (and still has) missions for people to complete (which you should do, by the way.  It's a pretty hefty credit reward in all).
There were (emphasis on were) several Ebilcorp NPCs scattered around and outside Fortune City for the common duelist to harass and choke war points from.  When 20% of the War Bar was filled, Chairman Platinum decided to congratulate the ED community by coming out to fight in a suit that is supposedly supposed to give you +7 Defense and +3 Resistance, and yet did nothing against the oncoming horde of people who were tired of harassing the Ebil Hazard and Corporate Ninja and saw fresh meat at the sight of Chairman Platinum's silver (it could be real silver, he's rich enough) hair.  Never the less, Chairman P was one step away from being tortured by some Level 1 noobs who were casting Plasma Bolt (not really) when all of a sudden the war bar reached 100%.  Then, for some reason:
1) The EC employees who were getting preyed on (my word use is intentional) happened to have an airline ticket for a one-way flight out of Delta V that activated when the bar reached 100% so no one could hit (on) them anymore.
2) The Ebil Hazards removed their suits, became regular Hazards, and lost (some gained) levels somewhere between.
3) Chairman P was decimated from the players who wouldn't even let him sleep on the park bench during the night (yeah, international players) so he had to hand out big money for you to practically buy five Health Packs for him.  Maybe all the stores in Delta V now have a plaque that says something like "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone", the obvious anyone being Chairman P.
4) Chairman P now does not stand up in ED (literally).  Well, he knows his place in society now.
5) Mr. Z (from MQ) does not happen to send the Chairman an airline ticket to get his ass out of Delta V
6) Alydriah does not give a shit about what happens to the Chairman.  Therefore, Baelius does not, either.
7) (Probably the most painful one for Chairman Porky's wallet) Chairman P must hand out these epic bikes, or else the player community will ____________________.  And to make it all worse, even the Level 1 Noobs who use Plasma Bolt have them too.

Dafuq?

How interesting.  All of my Blogger stats have reset.  I remember it was somewhere around 1780 yesterday.  *sigh*  Time to work again from the ground up.
I googled a bit and found out that manual user reset of the stats is impossible.  So I wonder, what happened?

Chronotide: Now in Noob Mode

I'm back again sooner than you'd think.  But it's just so I don't forget anything.
I was playing Chronotide today, and I progressed a bit.

First of all- shortly after I posted my first Chronotide post, I was killed in the ruins of Wintertide by an evil spider named Spider.  So I lost a lot of important stuff- like armor and weapons.
I respawned in the ruins of Chronotide *where my bed used to be*.  Since now I had nothing- absolutely nothing- I set the difficulty to Peaceful.  Whoops, there goes the difficulty of the whole damn game.  But hey- I like playing in Peaceful.  So I continued.

The first portal I bumped into was one to Zentrium Corporation.  Zentrium Corporation, like many other areas of the game:
1) is built in the Nether.
2) is made of many different blocks.  Heck, even different wood blocks.
3) has a spooky air to it.  Maybe it was just be and my Moody Brightness level.
4) has those horrifying diary entries.
5) should have spawned Blazes when I took the Jack o' Latern.  Remember, I was playing in Noob Mode.
6) has really well-done scenery.

Ack, it reminds me of Aperture Labs from Portal.
But moving on- your main objective there is to get a lever to open the iron doors that lead to the- no surprise!- Jack o' Lantern.  If any of you guys need help in this area, just read a book or two.  (Actually, you should always read the signed books.  They actually have a storyline to it!  Plus, there's that creep factor that makes a Creeper look lame.)

My favorite thing about this area is the room where Zentrium stores experiments.  No, not your little lame plant experiments.  You know...
Also, the fact that in the lantern room they have a Nether portal to exit (well, technically Zentrium Corp is in the Nether) the Nether and presumably go to Chronotide.  Don't try it- some obsidian has been replaced.  Plus, there's no trigger.  And if you take your Flint and Steel, find some obsidian that is mineable (you'd have to sneak in a Diamond Pickaxe), good luck.  You'll probably land in some lava.  But really, that area with the fake Nether portal is almost an exact copy of the functioning ones you find!

Next, after putting the Jack o' Lantern in its correct slot in the Chrono Crystal, I went to another cave/tunnel/thing that leads to the Nether.  This time, however, there was a (about 15-20 second drop via vine to an even lower level of the Overworld.  Then I found the Nether portal.
This one lead to the Nirgal Theatre.  I liked the streetlamps in the background (now with Glowstone!) and the fountain in front of the entrance.  And the theater itself.  The scenery in the theater is very well done.  And the stage.  And the fact that you actually have an audience while you act.  (Snow Golems FTW!)
As you probably guessed already, you have to take the role of actor in this place.  Take your props (Wooden gear and a Leather Tunic) and go onto the stage, where you (in order of action):
1) Chop down a tree (resources, everyone!  We are allowed to craft in this map!)
2) Chop down some cobwebs (I walked right past this one- not worth my time)
3) Enter the Evil Castle (Cannot be circumvented)
4) Take down the Enchantment Table (comes in handy- there are a lot of places around the game w/ bookshelves)
5) Rescue your beloved (the Jack o' Lantern) out of Bloodstone (Redstone)
6) Run away from an angry horde of mobs (Not for Noob Mode!  The Snow Golems can help keep back the mobs via snowball.)

Hmm, yeah, about it.

Messing around with Minecraft Maps

Hello all.  This time around, I'm here to tell you about how fun it is, in general, to break blocks that you aren't supposed to in custom maps.

First off: Chronotide.  I didn't do anything grieferish here, but once I got through that Nether portal, I lasted a bit longer, and then I died.  Hint, hint: It turns out after all that Chronotide is just remotely related to Windertide.  Oh yeah, I watched a Youtube vid of this map, so all the fun has been taken out for me.  But really, that is a really really good-looking map.

Next: Insanity.  This is another adventure-type map.  You're in an asylum, and you are trying to get out using your wits.  This map has an impressively creepy storyline and rooms just for Villager parodies of Youtube Minecraft celebrities.
What did I do?  I couldn't figure out the answer at one part of the map, so I just dug my way out of the room and into a Superflat world.  Good for me.  When I actually got back on track, something screwed up one of the doorways, so for me the iron door leads to a drop 50-something blocks below.  Not my style.  But then I got back in the game via break-in (literally) and I got to the end.  I think.  Let me just say that the game is Ao Oni-style creepy.  (Don't know what Ao Oni is?  Check out my only post that is labled Ao Oni.)

Third: The Tourist.  This map was originally in a different language other than English, but it got translated and I thank the translator, otherwise I would have gotten lost to f*ck.  This map is about a guy in Paris who gets left behind when God comes to rescue all of Earth's inhabitants.  And the map is bigggg.  It might as well be Paris.  It's really well-built and I got to spend a while walking the subway tracks.  However, I can't really progress in the storyline because if the insane lag it gives this computer.

Fourth: Puzzlecraft.  There's probably more than one map of this name.  So I'm going to distinguish it by the fact that it is in Spanish.  The signs, that is.  Which means I understand nothing.  So basically I'm tinkering around with the game.  Case in point: I was stuck on a parkour puzzle.  So I dug out some wool (all those people use wool for their games) and pillared to the top.  It's giving the lag crap though.

Chronotide: First Impressions

No kidding, Chronotide is a scary game.  Either that, or I'm a wimp.  (I have homework to do, but whatever.)
First- download link & background info.  Here. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1417424-adv-chronotide-awarded-2020-by-rsmalec-40000-dls/
Chronotide's the sequel to Wintertide, if that rings a bell in anyone's head.  Not for me.  Not for you, either?  Okay.
I'm not quite done with Chronotide yet, but it's already an exciting game that poses the risk of having me pee my pants any moment.
^The Chrono Crystal.

^The more, the merrier.

^Didn't see this one coming.  Good luck to myself.
(I'm sorry if I spoiled anything with that last picture.)

(My god, I really have to do my homework.)

Chronotide carries the air of an adventure map, instilling in the player curiosity and well, a general adventurous feeling, but also gives fear.  In this case, fear that a zombie will come up behind you and eat your brains.  Or falling.  That's a real big one.

In the near future, I see a positive review coming.

Dragon Buster II and Dragon Slayer Reviews

 [Draft Post from Last Month]
Hello all.  I decided to do a review because I felt like it. :D

Dragon Buster II

http://epicduelwiki.com/images/2/2b/DragonBusterII.png
This sword is good.  Not just the art, which I love and reminds me of the Draconic Devastator.
1) Damage: 35
This sword is the second 35 damage sword, after Frost Slayer.  I was expecting a 36 damage sword to match the Infernal Slayer.
2) Enhance Slots: 10
Like the other promos.  I expected this.  If you fully enhance this sword, it will have one more stat than a fully enhanced Infernal Slayer.  Not that one extra stat makes up for one less damage.
3) Damage Type: Physical
About time we get a physical promo.  Really.
4) Lack of special
Well, we're going to have to get used to it.  Just like the Infernal Slayer.
5) Cheevo with purchase
Dragon Master.  Sort of like Infernal Slayer (the sword)'s Infernal Slayer (the cheevo).
6) Number of stat modifiers
30.  On par with the Infernal Slayer.  Maybe it could've been more, to make up for lack of one damage.
7) Stat placement
+8
+10
+4
+8
Now compare that to the original Dragon Buster.
+8
+10
---
+8
Basically just another four points of tech.  I've never liked weapons that have points to both Strength and Support, as if they couldn't decide which stat to pick.  But the stat placement makes the sword a good weapon for Cyber Hunters, Tech Mages (because of the support), and maybe Mercenaries.  Not so good for Tactical Mercenaries (Passive PHYSICAL armor).
8) Requirements
Low, as with most Varium promotions.
9) Cost
Lower Varium cost than most promotions.  Very good.

[End Draft Post Part]

Dragon Slayer
 http://epicduelwiki.com/images/epicduelwiki.com/6/68/DragonSlayerM.png  http://epicduelwiki.com/images/epicduelwiki.com/5/59/DragonSlayerF.png
The first thing I noticed about this armor: It's hybrid.  Second: Stat placement.

1) Defenses
Hybrid Armor.  Cool.  That's what they've all been for a while now.  +5/+5, unlike Platinum's Pride, which is another story.
2) Enhance Slots: 10
As expected.
3) Defense Type: Hybrid
Good and balanced.  In case if you don't know: Hybrid Armors are good for:
Balanced Def/Res Bounty Hunter
Balanced Def/Res Blood Mage
Tech Abuse Tactical Mercenary
Balanced Def/Res Mercenary
Balanced Def/Res Tech Mage
4) Lack of special
Really, it's about time we return to the old standards.  The last promo with no special was... WTF THEY ALL HAVE SPECIALS IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER  But still, we must adjust.  In my opinion, the cost more than makes up for this.
5) Cheevo with purchase
Refer to above.
6) Number of stat modifiers
20.  Like a normal Level 35 armor should have.
7) Stat placement
+5
+5
+5
+5
Incredibly balanced, don't you think?  Sounds like it's good for *incredibly balanced* builds.  But to be honest, whenever any piece of gear covers all stats (such as Harbinger Husk) I think Mehh, not really worth getting.
8) Requirements
Armors have next to no requirements.  In this case, that you have a gender and that you are at least level 31.
9) Cost
Incredibly cost-efficient.  I'm serious.  Really.  995 Varium for one half of a promo is dirt cheap.

And don't even get me started on how much you save when you get the whole Dragon's Reckoning Package together.
~ReconnaisX
PS: Still gotta do my homework.

MQ's Fifth Birthday!

Hey guys!  I have finally come back from the depths of inactivity!  And you have to remember this is just because of a certain tweet by Maegwyn on Twitter.  Something about MQ's Fifth Birthday.  That was enough to get me to log back in after around a few months of no MQ.  I tweeted that, and she favorited it.  But whatever.  Off topic.
At the moment, I'm supposed to be doing homework, but like any other respectable Level 999 Procrastinator, I'm not doing my homework.  I'm doing this. (My god, I'm off topic again.)
Anyhow-
Every year on its birthday, MQ offers a special mecha.  This special mecha is usually earned by merging Silver or Gold Tokens (Silver for nonSC, Gold for SC) with a basic starter mech to create this awesome badass mech.  This year, you have to merge your tokens with a Newbatron.  And I mean V1.
Now, how to get the tokens?  Actually, I should start at how do I get to the celebration?
Simple! You just ride Tek's Floor-something-or-other (the one that's always "broken").  Once a year at this time, it works.  Every year.  Every time.
Now, the Floorivator (something like that) will take you under Tek's Mechs to the party.  From there, you can (at least this year):
1) Listen to an NPC concert.  I don't.  It's boring.
2) Go to teh party.  Cake party, to be specific.
3) Get your tokens.  More on this down below.
4) Merge your mechs.
5) Get starship items (SC only).

If you're a first-timer, you've probably never played Scrap's Delight.  It's this sweet (literally) minigame inside MQ.  It shows up once a year at a time you've probably already guessed by now.
You need to play this game and get a certain score in order to obtain tokens.  The objective of the game is to eat everything except the fish, which lowers Scrap's (as in your mech's) health.  The challenge is that the more Scrap eats, the bigger she gets.
One note on the tokens: THEY OCCUPY MECH SLOTS.

About the mechas:
The Mechas you get from merging this year (Gift-Wrapped series) is pretty good.  In my opinion, the attacks are overpowered (which means good in our case- this isn't EpicDuel).  However, the art is- well- how much effort was put into that?

Yawn.

I've played MQ for a long time.  I've seen its second birthday, in fact.
~ReconnaisX
PS: Time for me to get back to homework.
